About Us

The Women Resilience Initiative (WRI) was founded in Mogadishu, Somalia, in January 2019 by a group of progressive women committed to empowering women and girls in their communities. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women in Somalia, these founders established WRI to create lasting solutions that enhance resilience, promote gender equality, and provide essential resources and protection for women and girls.

Our Vision

WRI envisions a future in which women and girls have equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to their communities, fostering a society that values and respects their rights and dignity.

Our Mission

The mission of the Women Resilience Initiative (WRI) is to empower women and girls by enhancing their resilience and capacity for sustainable, independent living
