WRI’s programs are designed to create lasting change by addressing the unique challenges faced by women and girls in conflict-affected and underserved communities. Through targeted support in economic empowerment, education, healthcare access, and trauma recovery, our initiatives empower women to lead self-sufficient, dignified lives. Each program is a step toward building stronger communities where women and girls can realize their full potential and contribute to a brighter, more equitable future.
This program is dedicated to combating early and forced marriages, as well as female genital mutilation (FGM), through community-focused awareness campaigns. By educating families, local leaders, and youth about the harmful physical and psychological impacts of these practices, the program aims to protect the rights and well-being of women and girls. A key focus is also on promoting the importance of girls’ education as a powerful tool for empowerment and breaking the cycle of harmful traditions. The program works to foster community-driven change by engaging religious leaders, elders, and local influencers to challenge cultural norms that perpetuate these practices. Through dialogue and advocacy, the initiative encourages alternative solutions that safeguard girls' dignity and future opportunities. The goal is to create environments where girls are free from harmful practices and have the resources to pursue education and thrive as equal members of society.
As part of our commitment to empowering women and girls, WRI also prioritizes Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in our programs. We provide comprehensive education and services on reproductive health, family planning, and maternal care to ensure that women and girls can make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. Our SRHR activities include community workshops, health clinics, and outreach programs that promote access to contraception, safe childbirth, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Through this initiative, we work to reduce barriers to reproductive healthcare, particularly for women in marginalized communities affected by conflict and poverty. By advocating for SRHR, WRI promotes women's autonomy over their reproductive choices, helping to safeguard their health, enhance their economic opportunities, and uphold their rights to live with dignity and freedom.
WRI is deeply committed to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through comprehensive prevention and response initiatives. Our GBV program aims to protect women and girls from violence, including domestic abuse, sexual assault, and harmful traditional practices. We offer community education campaigns to raise awareness of the causes and consequences of GBV, challenging harmful gender norms and fostering environments where violence is not tolerated.
This program provides cash vouchers to women and girls to support their self-reliance, enabling them to meet basic needs and reduce their vulnerability to gender-based violence.
This program focuses on strengthening women’s economic independence through entrepreneurship training, vocational skills development, and financial literacy workshops.
This initiative creates platforms for women to voice their concerns and advocate for policies that protect their rights and address gender-based violence in their communities.
Engaging women in training programs for disaster response and peacebuilding, this program aims to enhance community resilience and women’s leadership in decision-making.
This program facilitates access to essential healthcare, education, and social services for women and girls, particularly in remote or conflict-affected areas.
